Privacy Policy

When you register on SaikApp, we collect your full name, email address, Maldivian phone number (+960), and a copy of your driving license for identity verification purposes. When you list a bike, we collect vehicle details including model, year, engine size, registration certificate, and current annual fee, insurance, and roadworthiness documents with their expiry dates. We do not publicly display your number plate. When you make or receive a booking, we collect transaction details including dates, times, and payment information shared between parties. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token used to deliver booking, message, and account updates to your phone. You can disable specific notification types at any time from Notification Settings.

We use your information to: - Verify your identity and driving license before activating your account - Connect renters with bike owners in Greater Malé Area - Facilitate bookings, payments, and communications between users - Send important account notifications and booking updates - Improve the SaikApp platform and user experience We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your phone number, exact pickup location, and (for bike owners) the vehicle's number plate are only shared with the other party after a booking is confirmed and payment is approved. Your name, profile photo, and general area (district) are visible to other users when browsing, booking, or messaging. Your driving license and vehicle compliance documents (registration, annual fee, insurance, roadworthiness) are only visible to SaikApp administrators for verification purposes.

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which complies with international data protection standards. All file uploads including driving licenses, bike photos, and payment slips are stored in Firebase Storage with restricted access rules. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

Bike photos uploaded by owners are visible to renters browsing the platform. Only side-view photos are shown during browsing to avoid number plate visibility. Once a renter's payment is confirmed for a booking, all uploaded photos of that bike and its number plate become visible to that renter only. Pickup and return photos submitted during a rental are shared between the renter and owner involved in that specific booking only. Vehicle annual fee, insurance, and roadworthiness documents are only visible to SaikApp administrators for verification purposes. Profile photos are visible to other users on the platform.

You have the right to: - Access the personal information we hold about you - Request correction of inaccurate information - Request deletion of your account and associated data - Withdraw consent for data processing at any time You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app, which permanently removes your data immediately. If you can't access the app, request deletion here or contact us at support@saikapp.com.

SaikApp does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not track you across other apps or websites. Basic infrastructure logs (e.g. for debugging crashes) may be collected via our Firebase backend provider, used only to keep the app running reliably.

SaikApp is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older and hold a valid Maldivian driving license. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please contact us immediately at support@saikapp.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of SaikApp after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
